You Have The "Curtain Burner"
From what I have heard, with a little practice, they can be operated safely. I never had such luck. When I bought my O'Day 26, it came with the same stove, and I had heard of their reputation. I removed the stove and set it up on a work table in our carport. Following all the instructions: 1. Pressurize the tank with about 20 pushes 2. Let a little fuel drip into the catch basin 3. Turn off fuel supply, and light catch basin 4. Once catch basin is heated up properly, open fuel supply 5. Cook meal After trying for over a week, I was never able to get anything less than a 2 foot flame at ignition time, and this stove is located just below the curtains. My solution was to go to Wal-Mart and purchase a small propane powered Coleman camp stove. I removed the guts from both the Coleman stove and the Seaward stove and place the propane components in the Stainless Steel Seaward stove. Now I screw on a small disposable propane canister, light the propane fuel and cook my meals. One word of caution, propane is heavier than air, when not in use, keep the propane canisters located outside, mine are in the fuel locker. Ben Allen Montgomery, AL "Latte Dah" O'Day 26
