It is all about money and power. When I think about the money involved I am in awe.... roadside weed that sells for what???$100.00 a pound??? A kid being stupid gets caught with the weed and his parents start shelling out big bucks for lawyers/fines /drug rehabilation. The tax payers shelling out big bucks for drug enforcement,prisons etc etc... Then I think that the guy who killed and ate someone in Germany got 8 years of prison but some dumb kid could go to jail for life for selling too much pot. I mean if I shot and killed my neighbor I am less likely to get life than if I sold him some cocaine....go figure. Personally I think someone who uses drugs has mental problems and should be treated as a mental patient not a felon. By the way I am very anti-drug. But to my way of thinking if you do something for 50 years and it doesn't work it might be time to try something else... Locking troubled teens away for life seems more like a problem than a solution.sorry back to sailing........

like sailing. Every culture on Earth has its' recreational drug of choice. Even if it's only caffeine, the last unregulated addictive drug on earth. Hmm, hey Coca Cola, ya you guys, what's it like to sell only addictive products and not go to the slammer? (Coke started with cocaine) Oops, sorry, back to sailing.P.S. Your part about 'roadside weed' says a lot. How do you tax something that grows wild? Major threat to 'power' and 'money'. And to that end, it is a 19 BILLION DOLLAR industry in the US just selling the drug test that keeps pot smokers off of the payroll! (It doesn't tell anyone if the applicant is high, only if they 'used' in the last month.)

This thread reminded me that when our H34 was safely in my back yard, I built a tent over her. In less that a week I heard the drone of a helicopter. It was at treetop height at the edge of the hill we live on. I had to walk to the boat to see it. It was pure white and had NO NUMBERS. The pilot had it stationary and pointed right at me. Under the cockpit, between the skids was the most sophisticated piece of spy ware I had ever seen. I waved at him and he turned and left. In police work, we call that 'being made'. DEA!

I just got back from day sailing and noticed a crap-load of responses after my last final reply. Nice to see a vibrant discussion about government, drugs, alcohol, coco cola and even alcohol stoves! Come on all, just go outside, enjoy your life. I had a great sail, even knowing I had a life threatening device on my boat. Yeah, I'm talking about my cigar, not my propane cooking stove........

I think maybe this Fred guy might want to GO OUT BACK TO HIS TENT and leave the forum for people who want to discuss boats and not read blowhard posts.BTW, Gord May is right on about ABYC and the CFR's with respect to safety items. These regulations are primarily for builders and repairers. However, if in the course doing a survey inspection I note a safety problem on my report I also tell my client that if the problem is not corrected the finance company and/or the insurance company may not accept him or her as a customer.

I can appreciate that some of you need a forum to discuss what's important to you. My request for stove help is what is important to me . I thank those who have contributed to that stove rebuild topic. Other ought to use a proper forum somewhere else or pose there issues elesewhere. There is no malice,discrimination in trying to stick to my subject of interest. Don't waste my stove forum.

hello john, i suppose you have dumped all the fuel ( possible water contamination ) and started with fresh fuel and cleaned the burner jets. to remove the tank valve you will have to buy a special wrench from kenyon marine. i think it is about $20.00it is a sloted handle and you could possibly make one, but the valve tab is brass and can round off quickly, then you buy a new tank and valvegood luck john
