Albin petrol to volvo md6

Hi All,
Im looking to changoe out an albin petrol to a volvo md6, does anyone
know if this is an easy exchange. Any problems i would come across etc?

Hi Scott

Lots of work as the bearers are not the same, angle of stern tube is not the same. Not a lot of space where the coupling sits so you have to use a half clamp coupling and not a Centaflex Coupling etc.

What are the bearers and is it a big job to adjust the stern tube angle, what would you suggest? Are there any engines that are easier to fit. I have looked at the beta but it comes to be a little more than i have financial wise as i am buying new sails too.

Hi Scott

It can be done but just a wee bit of work. I know of a few people that have done this.....

Be careful fitting an MD6A as it will be 30 years old plus..... Even if rebuilt it will still be 30 years old..
