Hey All

I posted a recent description of my Albemarle 4-day vacation and the next day another sailor posted a question about the Albemarle Sound. Both posts generated some traffic. So I got to wondering if there might be some interest in organizing a cruise of Albemarle/Pamlico sound fans.

I'm thinking a flotilla heading East and South from Edenton to Columbia for the first leg, then Columbia to the Marina at the mouth of Alligator River for the second leg then onto Manteo for the third leg ... and then back.... or something similar .... might be great fun. Each leg is short enough that you would have some time to shop in each town if that is your thing.

So... If this sounds like a good time how about sending your contact info and we can see what happens.

"Sounds" interesting. Depends on when. I'm retired, but none of my regular crew is! I do have a couple of possibilities for crew. -Paul

Hey, I'd be interested in that. When are you thinking to go? Is October an option, or even a good idea, weather wise?

The Cruiser's guide to NC coast states that September is one of the best month.

Looking at my work calendar it looks like Sept. 30 to Oct. 4 would work for me. I guess it would be wise to look at the weather and call it as the date approaches.

That I don't know. I've only ever been there by water. I've put in at Pelican Marina in Elizabeth city and they charged me $35 a night but were not worried about my truck nor did they charge me a launch fee.

I'm guessing they would have a different launch fee if we were not staying?
