The alarm and blower come on with the battery and should only come on upon turning key. Turn of key only is supposed to electrify panel, it does not start engine. There is a preheat and start button to start engine. Engine is starting fine.

I have replaced key, no change. I have temporarily disconnected test switch as suggested elsewhere, to no avail.

One of the test lamps is out, but it is not the bulb.

Seems like blower and alarm are being backfed power, but from where? Sometimes the blower and alarm are not engaged.

Pull the panel or if you have access in a locker see if they are wired to the hot side of the key switch. A switch is only in the hot wire so if your stuff comes on when the battery switch is turned on you are connected to the wrong side of the switch. Did something suddenly change or was recent work done to your electrical system?

After pulling the control panel and staring at it and checking every connection and the schematic, I stumbled on the problem by accident. I was checking the connections on the tachometer and and the wrench crossed two of the connections and a plume of smoke came up from the wiring harness. I removed the negative (black) and the positive (red) from the harness and wired them directly. Seems to be fixed. They were next to each other and I think that the corrosion caused the positive to back feed the blower and the alarm.
