Hi Andy, Al is not really reachable right now. We're having our own mini labor shortage and he's covering a couple of jobs, so he's not been on the phones and customer support lately. We expect that to change soon but we're in the thick of it now.

I can't believe the number of help wanted ads I see every day. The local PD has brought in one of those roadside message boards and the DoT has them on their road info signs when they aren't needed for traffic. Seems like a good time to be looking for work and being in the Catbird Seat.

One reason is, a lot of experienced people close to retirement, called it quits.. I am a good example.

My buddy's job was backfilled by 2 people, because 1 person couldn't keep up with his old work load. Hehe.

For example I'm retired from my career. But I work part time. My part time employer cut all of the part time staff way back in hours. OK for me. I wasn't depending on the income but it was nice to have some walking around money. They have help wanted posters up but they are not hiring. So it's a weird situation in which the employer is whining about not having enough staff but won't even give the existing staff more hours.
I could g on but...

So the help wanted signs are a smoke screen for poor customer service.

Most the staff do good to very good customer service when they are there. Actually I think the store is going to the now popular Buy Online Ship to Store business model. The store can carry less inventory. The employees spend more time on computer screens processing online orders and less time on the floor helping customers.
Blame it on Amazon. They are running the retail world.
