I'm installing a Simrad AIS and associated second VHF antenna. This may be a simple question...but where (which side) is it best to mount the antenna? Also, where should the AIS box be located for ease of installation and cable routing?

My Simrad AIS antennae (shakespear) is mounted on my aft radar pole. The VHS radio antennae is on the mast top. The AIS control box is on the bulkhead, in the aft lazarette (wth the battery charger and other instrument hubs. Wiring routes to the helm via available conduits.
