Can anyone point me to a weather url showing the average high/low AIR temps in the North Atlantic between 38-40 deg N in mid-May. There are lots of data for starting point (Annapolis, Md) and end point (Horta, Azores), but not much in between. Not looking for water temps, but rather air temps expected in that area. Thanks.

Try "intellicast.com" as they have a comprehensive list of historical data. Not sure if they'll have what and where you're looking but it's worth a try.

Airtemp North Atlantic

Difficult question!!
Google "pilot charts may" look at the second insert on the right hand side of the pilot chart: there are the average air temps and the lines they usually follow!
Depending on the year I would stay south of the "berg line" because of the bergs and the fog generated by the temp change... I would stay relatively south until east of 45°W.
Both times I was there in May, we had nice sailing weather but chilly nights... down to 10°C.
It's a lot warmer south of the GS but there is less wind!
Have a good trip
Pierre
