Anyone had experience with the Air Head? See the link below for information?

Why store waste aboard if you don't have to?

Expecially since you're in waters where each flush can be treated and discharged overboard without harm to the environment? If you were on "no discharge" inland waters, the Air Head can be a viable alternative to a holding tank...but before making any decisions, I suggest you check out the Lectra/San--a CG certified Type I MSD (treatment device) that can be used with any toilet. (http://www.raritaneng.com/products/waste_treatment/lectrasan.html) It costs about the same as the Air Head and actually consumes less power...because it only runs after each flush--plus, you can bypass it altogether at sea outside the "3 mile (12 mile in the Gulf off FL) limit"...whereas the blower and heater for the Air Head must run continuously 24/7.

some further thoughts

Peggy, thanks for the input on Lectra-San. Downloaded their manual. Looks to be quite a bit more complicated to install and maintain than the air head. The air head fan is 120 mA, not a lot of current. I respect your opinion and will look into the details of each before deciding what to do. Really hoping to get some input from others regarding their experiences, good and bad.

Lectra/San not that hard to install

And requires far LESS maintenance than the AirHead--in fact, none except an occasional cleaning, which doesn't require taking it apart but only pouring a solution of muriatic acid and water down the toilet according to directions. And it can be used with any toilet, manual or electric. No paper bowl liners to deal with or gallon jugs of urine to store aboard and then take ashore or pour over the side at sea (but only outside the "3 mile limit"). Nothing to empty at all, nor any chemicals or biological "starters"...just flush the toilet and push a button. Quite few people here have installed Lectra/Sans...and they all love 'em. You would too. But it's your boat and your choice.
