I'd like to hear from anyone who has bought and is using Air Force sails. I'm thinking of having them make a mainsail for my Hunter 28.5, but would like to get some first hand comments from anyone who has dealt with this company. Any info, pro or con, would be appreciated.

I bought a main last year

From Air Force Sails for a Newport 30 I am in the process of selling. I was please with the help I received from the sales rep. in getting all the measurement from the boat so they could make the sail. The construction of the sail was very good IMO. I ordered a Blue Water Main with 2 reef points and standard battens. The sail was delivered on time; fit the rig to a T and the price was very reasonable. The new main made a big difference in the performance of the boat also.

Good experience with air force

My main and 110 were purchased from air force 3 years ago. bottom line....good quality, good service, signifigant savings. Price wise I saved about 30%... or $600-700 for the two sails.

We bought from Air Force

We purchased a main and 135% genoa for our Catalina 27 tall rig last spring - Blue Water model sails. Very solid sails and good fit. The rep was very knowledgeable and helpful. He gave good explanations of different types of sail cloth and construction. Good price - they will probably run a discounted "boat show" price in the winter as many other sailmakers do. I gave them incorrect measurements for the head sail. The rep caught this and called to verify and asked me to remeasure. If you go with a local shop such as North or Quantum someone will come to your boat and do the measurements. This costs a lot of extra money for an equivalent quality sail.
