It's been a long,long time but as a kid we would rinse the sponge air filter in a little gasoline a couple of times than sponge it again in even less motor oil to keep it moist. I have know idea if this is acceptable or not but its what we did as kids. Maybe check the archives if no one else chimes in. Good luck, Jack
