If it's a Proctor mast, it's probably about 30 feet long. Add about 4.5
feet from the waterline to the mast step plus any masthead equipment (antennae,
lights). Once when the opening span was stuck, I've went under a railroad
bridge that indicated 37 feet of clearance on the gauge and made it ok. I
