Air Conditioning on a Hunter 326

I apologize in that I am reposting this post from the "Ask a Hunter Owner" forum. I got no responses on that forum and would really appreciate some help.

I recently purchased a 2003 Hunter 326 and I want to add air conditioning to it.

I plan to locate the A/C under the starboard settee (as Hunter indicates in the manual).

The problem I have that while it is a large space, the slope of the hull limits the width versus height of the unit.

I would like to know what brand/models of air conditioners do other Hunter 326 owners have installed along with any comments or hints about positioning the A/C.

I've already surveyed a good bit about opinions of different brands. I need the specifics for a Hunter 326 due to the above mentioned space limitations.

Thanks,
Vernon

Do you find 12K enough? Where are you located? I'm in Georgia and was thinking 16K.

Contrary opinion: 1/2 dozen or so low-draw boat fans and a 12k BTU A/C unit. You will want the fans anyway when away from the shore-power. Fans were what we used before marine A/C came along.

I'm located in Singapore. Weather probably like Florida but minus hurricane/typhoon.
For us, 12kbtu just about ok in day heat but pretty cold at night. Your mileage may differs.

I have an H336 with a 12k mermaid located on the FL panhandle. It works well at night, but on a hot sunny day it will only maintain a temp delta of 12-15 deg from outside. There are a lot of losses in the long ducting runs. I plan on eventually adding a 5-6k unit in the aft berth area.
