Air conditioner installation

I'm having my yard put together a quote for me on installing a self-contained air conditioner/heat pump system in my 9.2C. I figure it'll probably require putting the unit under one of the seats and doing some duct work back to the main cabin. I don't think I'll need to use two units. With that in mind, what do you guys think I should expect as a reasonable price when the quote comes back (including all materials and labor)?

And please no one make the usual suggestions of doing the work myself. That's not my style. :)

Depends upon some unknowns you don't mention, one example being whether the existing wiring can handle the load, what brand you choose and what if anything needs to be moved to accommodate the unit and balance the weight distribution.

Guesses here don't replace your due diligence with comparable bids

This, unfortunately, is one of those improvements that wont get much of a response unless you repost on ask all sailors. Just not too many people fitting a system like this on a 35 year old boat worth 15-25k. I would think you are looking at $5k easy with improvements to wiring, etc....and yard rates.

Thankfully I'm not looking at wiring improvements. I got the boat from someone who did a ton of upgrades to the boat already, so it's got a relatively new electrical system that's already been running dual window air conditioners that he jury-rigged to fit in the hatches. The new central system should be less of a load than the two window units. Thanks for the estimate, though!

I just happened to visit this board again. I installed a 12000 btu unit in the aft room closet with a four inch pvc tube running through the head to the main salon and one into the aft cabin. Cost to me was about 1700 The webasto fcf unit I used has gone up in price though.
