Air Conditioner / Heater Noise

We have a 2000 Hunter 340 fitted with the factory Marine Air Systems Vector AC/Heat reverse cycle system. It seems to be very loud (ie impossible to sleep with it running and/or when the compressor kicks on). Not being the original owners....is this just the way it is?! Others experiences with the same unit welcome...

And for the purists out there, because I know that "loud" is a relative term...according to the app on my phone it's averaging 70db when running...

I had the same problem on the unit in my hunter 49 I ended up replacing it with a new unit same manufacture and it was very quiet and solve the problem

In my system, the raw water cooling pump makes a heck of a racket also.

Both my a/c units are noisy but not my pumps. Is there air in your system? I notice if there is any air the pumps are noisy until the air bleeds out. I moved my pumps to the through hole location below the water line to help eliminate the pump priming problem.

Have you oiled the blower motor as per the A/C manual?

Oiled the blower fan...didn't seem to make much difference. Seems to me that the bulk of the noise is from the compressor and to some extent the water pump. I don't think there is air in the lines...getting good flow and let run.

I'm looking at putting one of the econo-heat panel heaters on the wall behind the door to the aft cabin (only 2x2 ft spot available). Will use the built in system to warm (or cool) the cabin initially but then the panel to sleep. Of course this doesn't solve the cooling while sleeping side of things but that's less of an issue.

My pump is below the water line. No air in the line. It reverberates in the locker where installed. I've tried noise isolation material and that helped a bit. Still tough to sleep in the aft stateroom with A/c running.
