Wife said I had to sell the current one before I could buy another. I did so Saturday, and am experiencing severe bouts of withdrawal and panic today. The game plan is to wait until spring to purchase something else. Five months? I think I'll probably have to drive over to the marina Saturday and beg a ride, or go insane. Start Looking

Hi Tom, Good Luck and might start looking now. Took me about 10 boats and several months. Started looking in Oct and bought in December. No hassle getting it ready (documentation, installing new equipment, reworking and prep) with early April launch.

Upside

Just think of all the winter maintenance you won't have to do!

SOLD IS GOOD

Congrads Tom, i would start loking now. It took me a year plus to find the boat and the equipment on it. I took my time and researched each item i required, and then each boat til i found a match. What i did not do was sell the old boat first...and i still have it..........good luck and enjoy the search...bob

What size your old boat?

What size, how old, and how much did you sell your boat for? I have a 1970 Cal22 @ Carlyle Lake and I'm thinking of moving up to a 30' some time in the future. I need more space/head room! Heading over to lake this Sunday hopefully! Weather will be nice & close to 80 degrees, 5-10mph winds. Too bad you don't have a sailboat but I'm sure you'll have another soon enough. Good luck!

It was a 1978 O'Day 22 ...

... and I sold it for $1500. I think that with a good bit of labor invested, it would go for twice that, but I bought her cheap and didn't feel the need to milk the sale. I'm looking at fast boats in the 22-25 foot range. I'm at Boulder, and it's been a VERY windy year on that end of the lake, and I also need something newer and a bit more trustworthy so I can go out in anything. Great fall ... enjoy your sailing!!
