You ideally should not mix different type of batteries in the same bank as their charge acceptance rates can vary widely. You are also not best served to mix batteries of different ages in the same bank or you can shorten the life of the new battery.
So, if you have two group 27's in parallel as your house bank you would be best served to replace the pair of them at the same time, with the same technology as your starter battery, unless you have a charging system designed to accommodate charging banks of batteries of different types like AGM / Wet or Gel / Wet.
If you don't have the ability to recharge AGM's to 100% very often, like being on a mooring in Maine, you may find they suffer a rather short life for the additional expense when compared to regular old wet cells...
