I am in the buying process of a 1996 Hunter 40.5. Both the forward and the aft water tanks leak and are currently not being used. A survey done on the boat a few years ago notes that the "fitting at the bottom of the aft fresh water tank is cracked." The current owner indicates that is why the tank is leaking and that a similar issue is causing the forward fresh water tank to leak. He also indicates that it is a simple repair. Of course, he's trying to sell his boat. If anyone has had an issue similar to this and can provide some information/guidance regarding this issue, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I have not had this problem. Since the seller proclaimed that it is a "simple" repair, have him do it.
