I want to add some additional (but removable) solar panel capacity to my Hunter 40.5. I had some stainless tubing made up with a fork on one end to attach to the pushpit and a threaded eye at the other in order to make the tension adjustable and to attach the lifeline gate. I used a jam nut to keep the threaded eye from moving. Garhauer Marine made them custom to my drawings. I am in driving range of them so I did not have to incur shipping. I also had them make up some other custom parts at the same time. One thing I took note of was an inch and a half difference in length port to starboard. The solar panels will attach with tubing connectors and I will make an adjustable strut to adjust the angle. Here's some pix.
