How do you tighten the aft keel bolt without removing the engine?

You Can't, But....

You can't, but...it's actually not that tough to do. You need to remove the 4 motor mount bolts, the prop shaft and perhaps a few things that may get in the way of lifting the motor (hoses, wires, etc.) Next, (assuming you have the mid-boom cabintop traveler) take the block & tackle from the mainsheet, remove it from the traveler and attach it to the motor to lift it up. You don't need to completely remove the motor, just lift it high enough to get a torque wrench in there to tighten the bolt. Once it's tight, just lower the motor & bolt it down. You will want to make sure that the shaft is still aligned with the motor....here's a link to show you how to do that. http://www.tcsn.net/bosun/c30/shaftalign.htm Good luck!!
