I'm in the market as were . Colonial Beach
My wife thinks that she is the Admiral....

but I haven't awarded her that title. She will come out on the boat but she has made it clear that she doesn't really love it, she likes it...sometimes. She usually spends most of her time on the internet, reading a magazine, or laying out in the sun. When it comes to going on shore she gets to pick things to do and she enjoys going to the various little tourist traps, I mean retail shops, around the Chesapeake Bay area. I wanted to get her involved in the sailing and she use to do some steering, before I got the autohelm. She really doesn't like to do those things. She will stand a watch during the day for a short time to realive me. She doesn't mind the V-berth and she takes the area near the door. I don't care because I will steal most of the fan when it is warm outside.

Love the VBerth

on our Hunter 40.5. The reason we picked it is that I like the fact that the head is ensuite and when we have company aboard I like the privacy. Although neither Capn Grumpy or I are very small (he's 6' and I'm 5'6") we are usually very comfortable. I also ended up liking the VBerth best on our Hunter 34 although I initially thought I'd like the aft cabin better.

Aft cabin

We always use the aft berth on our Beneteau 323. I am 6'4" and we sleep athwartships. The aft berth is quite large, with ample legroom and breadth. We have three opening ports in the aft cabin for ventilation, so its even better ventilation than the v berth. I wish I could sit up in the aft cabin, but you can't win them all.

V-Berth

for me, but it isn't exactly a v berth on the Beneteau 400. It has a head in the absolute forward position with the cabin being walk through and the berth on the starboard side with a bench seat on the port side. Ahhhh, the King's quarters it is.
