I am in a 1000 boat marina, on a 60 slip dock. On my dock there are 59 white guys and one asian guy. On the next dock there is one woman owner. In the 6 years I have been there I have seen one black family on their boat (sail). I'd say boat owners there are 99% while guys over 50 and slighly overweight, including the racer/owners on the keel boats. All the dingy racer are fit and young. I fit right in ( keel boat profile) , but it is kind of boring. This is the same experience when I have been out crusing in Puget Sound. Kind of like snow sports, though more Asians there, a few Blacks, but no Hispanics.
All the employees I have ever seen in the marine supply stores and working the fuel docks have been white.
These are just observations. My opinion is that it would be nice to rub shoulders with people unlike me when out doing something we are all enjoying.
