Need some advise regarding installing a navpod cp20 15"x10.5" on the pedestal guard. looks like the std pedestal guard comes apart above the top plate and has screws to secure the 2 sections. Interested in suggestions to retro-fit the Navpod AG215 angle guard (a single bend pedestal guard) as part of the install, replacing the top section of the mfg supplied pedestal guard.

Edson?

Is it an Edson? My top plate has two holes that allow the guard to be one piece down to the feet on the sole. I replaced the straight guard with a double offset from Tops-In-Quality. At the time it was $100. I think that top plate is still available from Edson.

The stock guard on the 2006 h25 has curves in the lower legs. Not sure if it is an edson. I have not attempted to remove the top section of the guard above the top plate. looks like I should be able to remove the 4 screws and tap the upper section of the guard off the lower legs. I was thinking i may be able to cut the ag216 guard to size and slide into the orig lower legs. I attempted to attach some pictures but can't seem to ge tthe post to upload in time.

I've done that

I have that exact navpod on my h25. If you install it upside down, the angle works fine on the stock guard. The wire can run through the guard and exit under the floor over the fuel tank. You then need to drill to get wires below. I have a gps, wind, and depth mounted.
