I have been looking for a small sail boat for some time now. I am on the dinghy sailing team at my college so I have a knack for it. After an exhausting search, a neighbor pulled a 19' Oday Mariner 2x2 from his garage and slapped a for sale sign on it. I am pretty new to sailing but spent my childhood on my father's motor boat. It includes all sales (which were purchased new last summer), a trailer, and a small engine. The boat is clean. From what I have read these are great boats. How difficult to alter the interior? The two extra bunks are great but I would rather install holding tanks to have a small galley and head on board so that a small weekend trip could take place. They are asking $1500 with the trailer

The trailor is probably worth that. The interior is not going to be difficult if you are handy at simple construction techniques and have worked with fiberglass. It is going to take a lot of thought and planning. You may want to take her out a few times as is overnight and get an idea of what is really necessary. If she is a clean boat with new sails, trailer, and working outboard, I bet she will not last long on the market at that price.
