Ahoy!

Has anyone here cruised the Bay of Quinte in 2014? I am considering a cruise from the west end to the east side breaking out by Pryners Cove and crossing to Sodus Bay. What I am looking for is anything I should be concerned about, pointers, etc.. I am not a yacht club member so are slips an issue. Any current information is appreciated. Oh yes, I'll be sailing a 1979 Hunter 30 with a 5'3 draft.

Thanks,
Bob

The Bay of Quinte is a delightful cruising destination. How long are you planning to take for your trip through the Bay?

I have not cruised QB for a couple of years, but this year's water level is pretty good at this time anyway. There are marinas at Belleville and Picton ( one of my favorite places) and Brighton. I believe you can anchor at Waupoos also without being a club member. You can also overnight against the wall at the Brighton Road bridge. Later in summer the bay becomes pretty weedy, but stay in the marked channels

We are thinking perhaps a week to make the passage through the bay.
