While preparing my 1990 35.5 Legend for the water, I discovered a 6 inch long crack approximately 5 inches below the joint between the hull and the steel portion of the keel. It is on the aft edge and extends forward. It goes through from side to side. Has this happened to anyone else? Advice before I call a welder?? Thank you.

Bob, Go to the Forum Archives and enter the phrase 'keel joint'. This will lead you to discussions on this. I posted a reply Re: 1990 H-33.5 on this very subject on 04/12/01. Dick Carey S/V Puffin

Not a crack at the keel-hull line,

I guess my description was not clear, the crack is in the steel, about 5 inches below the keel-hull line....not where the steel meets the fibreglass, but in the steel itself, and the crack goes all the way through.
