I need to have my engine rebuilt on my Catalina 30 (low oil preassure) They are going to start next week .... any advice from anyone that has done this in the past. Thank you.

rebuild vs repower

If your 30 has the old 5411 universal in it. Have you considered repowering? usualy this will cost alittle more but EVERYTHING is new, increases you resale value, increases the ease of use.

What to do? I had the same decision to make last year and after weighing the differences i repowered. I had the 11 hp universal and the cost to rebuild was about two thirds the cost of replace with the 18 hp universal. I had just purchased the boat six months earlier and want to keep it. So I decided to repower and get every thing new. Boufght the whole package, gauges, muffler, fuel system.BUT now i can enjoy the boat without worrying what is next to blow......peice of mind is a little expensive, but worth it to me. Good luck!
