Advice on Changing Oil - Yanmar QM15-Diesel

Just purchased O'Day 30 with a Yanmar QM15 diesel inboard. Needs an oil change - what's best type and grade of oil to use in this area ?

Mobile 1 is certified for light diesel use and should be strongly considered for small diesel inboards.. I got the recommendation from Mobile and use it in the Westerbeke 12 hp 10W30 grade.

Rich, I also have a Yanmar diesel in my 27, my shop manual gives 3-4 brands of oil that Yanmar recommends for safe operation. I have to disagree with Jim on the use of Mobil 1, although a fine product, it is a synthetic oil. Using a synthetic oil is OK if, and ONLY if your engine used it from the begining (and I imagine that your engine has hrs on it) you should never switch from a regular oil to a synthetic it's Not good for the engine
