I am in the process of buying a 1995 270 - survey looks good, three small blisters that owner will have fixed. I know this is an open ended question but does anyone have advice on anything I should be on the lookout for? It is a shoal draft, winged keel version. Appreciate any thoughts!

Suggestions

My suggestions from hard-earned experience: * Absolutely - get it professionally surveyed. * Check the sanitation (potty) system carefully. Make sure it flushes properly, has no leaks, and no head odor. * Check the fresh water system, holding tanks, pump, pressure, ally hoses - these attract mildew and may need replacement. * Climb to the top of the mast and inspect masthead, sheaves, pins, VHF antenna, windex. This area is inaccessible and gets a lot of wear from weather. * Check the bildge. Any water? Oil?, is the bidle pump green from standing water, does the float switch work? * Check anchors, chain, and rode. Do they need replacement? * Check for complete Coast Guard safety equipment. Do you have a dinghy? Enough life preservers? * Check all hoses for wear and tear.
