I would .....
just call her mate. The simple term mate is as nautical a term, as there is. The term "mate" when used between men and women can lead to some creative innuendo, suggestive banter and, maybe, some closer bonding. If she wants to be the Admiral, tell her she needs to earn the title. Ya gotta want something a little bit for it to mean anything.
Being a single man, I use the term mate with the single ladies aboard and Mrs. for the married ladies.

I wasn't always a single man, and I understand why married men use the term, "The Admiral". One can insert the term, in polite conversation, with a variety of implication.
I will admit though, once you get past the learning curve, sailing alone isn't a lot of fun. My current "S.O." is good on the helm, but still learning to trim. In port I call her the cruise director. She likes that title.
