I've just gotten around to addressing the freezer/refrig. Made sure all the wires were connected, turned on the circuit breaker, adjusted the thermostat control and nothing. Not exactly nothing. I heard a whirring sound that gave me hope, but it turned out to be only the fan, mounted behind the compressor. Don't know where to go from here, but I'm eager to learn.

What model do you have? How old is it?

I had a similar issue when we bought our boat and changing out the eletronic board solved the issue .

The boat is an 81 and the unit came with. Model number, papers, etc are on the boat and I'm in my office. It's called a "Cold something or other", pretty sure.

I emailed him with my model # and the problems I was having. He sent me a trouble shooting document that showed that the circuit board was probably bad. Sent him the board and he bench tested on his equipment and it did not check out. He sent me his recommended replacement at a very reasonable price and it has worked fine for three years.
