Our Hunter Legend is equipped with Adler Barbour refrigerator and freezer (separate units).

The fridge is working fine, but we are having issues adjusting the pressure on the freezer unit. It has an older plate, but a brand new cu-100 compressor.

It worked as a freezer a few weeks ago, but the pressure was inadvertently changed and we can't seem to be able to adjust it back to a level that would bring the unit to freezing temperatures.

Does anyone know what pressure works?

Need more information.
R-12 or R-134?
Who's playing with pressures?
Was the unit evacuated with a vacuum pump when this "new" one was installed?
Do the coils have TXVs?
Are there one or two compressors?
Box temp?
outdoor or temp around condenser?
The freezer coil could be around 5-1 lbs on the low side if it's 134. really no way to know without more information.

Adjust the PRESSURE????? The pressure in a freon system is determined by the ambient temp. You don't control it as a variable. You cycle the compressor on more often or run the compressor at a higher RPM to get more BTUs moved from the evaporator to the condenser
If the pressure is changing then either the system is low on freon (has a leak)(they don't normally get too much pressure from a leak!!!) or the condenser is not getting enough cooling resulting in a higher than normal ambient temp. Both situations will result in lowered cooling capacity. If the pressure while the compressor is not running checks then check the cooling water pump/air fan or a condenser that is clogged with dust (air cooled) or fouled (water cooled)

It's a new compressor. My technician is licensed for other manufacturers, but not specifically Adler Barbour. I can't find someone in my area who know Adler Barbour well. He's been great with the fridge, but he can't get the freezer cold enough. I know it works because he had it at -5 celcius but then tried to adjust it to make it more efficient but can't get it that cold again.

-It's R134 in the system. I will check on changing the RPMs as I didn't think that was an option.
-It was evacuated when it was installed
-I do not know if the coils have TXV
-The fridge (running perfectly) and the freezer are two completely separate systems
-My technicians concern is setting the pressure too low is that as it cools the pressure will drop lower and the system will cut out.

The Adler Barbour CU100 variable speed has a capillary tube expansion device and contains around 120 grams of refrigeration. Manufacturer recommends the correct amount of refrigerant for each evaporator size and condensing unit in their web site manual. Correct charge is recommender with in + -- 15 grams. Because in the field refrigerant by weight is not easy so there are other methods to obtaining correct charge, Frost line is one refrigerant low pressure is another.
If you go to my web site and click on REFRIGERANT CHARGE and then servicing you will find answers to refrigerant servicing on Adler Barbour units. http://www.kollmann-marine.com
