I've kind of perused the internet for Adler Barbour cold machine door gaskets (seals) to no avail. Does anyone know if some type of other generic seal can be used that can be bought at the local hardware store or home depot? The seal doesn't look too complex. I'm just wondering if anyone has changed the seal and not used an Adler Barbour seal
I am sure Adler barbour as nothing to do with the freezer lid on your hunter 420. The refrig/frzr on your hunter was builtin at the factory. Unless they used an after market R/V type refrigerator like I have seen on some the most recent models. A very cheap way to do things in my opion.
If you have the better factory builtin setup and the rubber seals have been damaged or rotted somehow then check with hunter on a replacement seal for counter top lid. Or maybe they can give you the name of their supplier.
By trial and error...On my 36 I have done some modifications by going to home depot and getting some sticky backed refrigerator seals which comes in a roll. This allowed me to create a triple seal. Do the dollar bill trick on the lid if you can not pull the bill out once lid is locked down then you should have good and tight seal. This stuff is also easy to clean or replace as needed from time to time.
