Adler Barbour 4 Pin Control Module

Does anyone have any experience replacing an old Adler Barbour 4 Pin Control Module with the 4 Pin Control Module by Frigoboat?

We suspect that our old 4 pin module is faulty - have checked the fuse which is good - and still get a beeping sound when the compressor tries to kick on. The fan is working.

It has been suggested to us that the problem is the module and I have found the frigoboat for $225. Any suggestions on investing this much on an older system such as this will be great.

I replaced a AB 3016 module for my 1993 Adler refridge. It solved the problem, which was that whenever I would attempt to turn on the fridge, there would be a kind of squeaking sound (just once), the volt meter on my elec panel would go up to about 5 and then go back to zero, with the result that the fridge didn't come on.

Since ethere was no way to take off the old module for lack of room, I mounted the new module near the old module location and just rerouted the wiring. To date, it's been functioning a couple of years.

These guys keep you honest. Yes, it is the meter which shows how many amps I am using. The refridgerator uses about 4 amps when turned on.

We decided to go ahead and order the Frigoboat 4 pin sensor and put it on this weekend. AND THE REFRIGERATOR WORKS AGAIN!!!!

So hopefully this $225 investment will buy us some more time. If needed it can be found at coastalclimatecontrol.com under the accessories link.
