Adjusting Hanging Locker Alignment

My hanging locker doors are out of alignment. I would like to adjust them. Can I simply remove the screws which attach the side of the locker with the starboard bulkhead (without loosening the upper shrouds since the bulkhead board will stiil be in place) and shift the locker? See photo. Thanks in advance. Steve C30 #989

Hanging Locker

Steve, I hate to tell you this, but the locker is not your problem. The problem is probably with the bulkhead pulling up. I had this problem last summer and it was a fairly easy fix. Pull the cushions and boards out and check the attachment of the chainplate to the fiberglass inside. Mine,hull#360, only had one bolt making the attachment and it was bent. This was causing the bulkhead and the hanging locker to raise up to the point the locker wouldn't close. You will have to modify this a bit to fix it. I went with a strap and three bolts. Hope this helps. Sean

Locker Again

One more thing, make sure the locker is settled into the original position before you drill the new holes for the extra chainplate bolts. You will have to loosen the shrouds for the locker to lower into the original position.

Thanks for advice

Thanks. I ended up loosening the upper shrouds, removing all screws in chainplates/locker, and moving the locker back into alignment. The starboard bulkhead was moved down a bit and the locker independently moved down a bit. Apparently the PO had added extra lower chainplate attachments but never corrected the alignment. It is now in great alignment.
