I have a 1989 Hunter 30g and am working on designing an adjustable genoa lead car system. Does anyone out there have any suggestions in regards to how to configure the setup (i.e., 3:1, 4:1)? Does the fact that the track is curved around the cabin top matter? Thanks.

Garhauer makes an excellant system at a very reasonable cost. Everything is supplied with the system, all is highly polished stainless and my be cheaper than DIY in the long run. Why don't you check into it at www.garhauer.com?

John, I have a '79 Hunter 33 at Michigan Harbor just down the road from you with adjustable genoa cars, if you'd like to come see the setup just let me know. Our track is straight not curved so that may change things for you a bit.. Hell, just head down to the marina (right next to Jefferson Beach Marina) and head on down to slip 307(?) and check it out. We just bought the boat a few weeks ago and have been busy cleaning her up and working on some interior projects and haven't had a lot of sail time yet so I really can't comment on how effective the setup is but the PO loved it and swore by it. GLYC is right next to Harbor 9? I was there for 4 years and then switched to Michigan Harbor, do they still party all night long in their gazebo?
