Adding Refrigeration

Anyone with experience adding refrigeration to a C-30 (1985 model)? I would be interested in discussing the problems and solutions withn you.

It's not that difficult

Hi L.D. There are many options, but I had good experience with adding an Adlour Babour to my older C36. Considerations are many (box insulation, location of compressor, battery capacity, etc), but it's not that hard of a project to actually install. It's great having reliable cold beer and not having to add ice to the icebox all the time. Let us know what specific questions you might have. BTW, this project adds to resale value as well.Best,Trevor

Pretty Simple, Really

I live on Vancouver Island, so our cruising temperatures are much the same. I installed a Adler/Barbour 55 compressor and evaporator to match, from West Marine, on my 88 Cat 30.The instructions were great, anybody can install it with no professional help. The compressor I installed in the port storage compartment, very close to the icebox. I installed a solar panel which keeps the batteries charged. Good luck.
