Adding reef points to 170 mainsail

I'm adding a set of reef point to the mainsail of a Hunter 170. Any recommendations as to how deep the reef should be? The picture on the Hunter website shows the reef points below the lowest batten (clew cringle about the same position as the second sail slide), while the Hunter video shows reef points above the batten (near the third sail slide).Also, what's the best configuration for the clew cringle in order to leave the sail slides in the track - should the clew cringle be higher than the others? This appears to be the case in the sales video.

170 Reef Points

I have two main sails for my H-170 and both have a reefing point. I added a reefing point to the main that came with the boat and I bought a used composite main that already had a reeing point. I measured the one on the composite sail and it is about 24" up. Best I remember the other sail is about the same.
