trim

on a columbia 45 the prop is a bit to the right of the skeg-rudder. under sail you may need to trim a bit if you have a high drag prop. also the boat will walk to stbd in reverse. if you need to put in so much effort to turn/trim the steering that you are considering hydraulic steering there is something wrong somewhere in the steering system. the system is quite simple. look under the shower and under the berth in the aft cabin. really not much to it.
