Would like to add a couple of cleats in the cockpit of my hunter 260 to be more single handed. How does one get to the underside for bolting them in?

Aft Cleats

Thanks for the suggestion, Was hoping for a cam cleat or clam cleat aft of the steering wheel.

I use extra long jib sheets and tack from in front of the helm. I clamp the sheets in thier normal clamps when I am on the new course.

No backer but mine is an older boat maybe it is thicker stuff... I've had it like that for 2 years no issues!

I researched this a lot with my customers. Problem leading the jib sheets back into the 260 cockpit the line has to come down and so on. The more turns, the less line freely moves and harder as well not to mention all that is in the way of routing. Have you ever thought of using either a swivel based cam cleat like the spinlock PXR0810/SW or the one that lifts up which is fixed to release the sheet line and can be locked in with a longer jib sheet. If you go for the non swivel, make sure you add the base that elevates that cam cleat in the up position placed where the line goes thru now.
