adding boom vang

I'm looking at boom vangs for my hunter 29.5 ,any input would help decide what would be the best way to go . any one using a boom kicker ?

Hello

I am using a boom vang on my boat... mine is the soft vang, because I have a pop top on my cabin.... and a rigid boom vang would interfere with my poptop when I open it... it helps a lot to control the sail trim when I am sailing... I also use a mainsheet and traveler set up together... so I use all 3 to get the best sail trim I can...

I installed a solid vang from Garhauer-Excellent machining and great customer service.

Ditto. Very good product and great customer service.

I also started out thinking of adding a soft vang and boom kicker, but when I added up the total cost of the two separate items and the associated mounting hardware for the boom kicker, the rigid vang from Garhaurer, for me, was a better deal. I also took advantage of Garhauer's boat show pricing at Strictly Sail.

I already had a soft vang and I installed a boomkicker bought from this site for my Catalina 30 ...love it easy install
