I have been toying around adding air condition to my 1990 H30 for two years now and have had some great suggestions. There is one thing I have neglected, that is the power source. I can't find any room in the access panel to tap off the 120 VAC and add a breaker. I was thnking of using the circut for the hot water heater, since I have never used that one. Any suggestions? Also has any one used a flagship marine unit and what was your impression? Thanks Jim Bessinger, Denver Co

Separate switch?

I would add a separate Blue Sea breaker panel. If it is the only switch you ever plan to add it is just like a single home light switch. And very inexpensive. Of course the switch will be a circuit breaker. I did this with my new refrigeration so that I could keep the wire run shorter and have the switch nearer the icebox. I installed a Mermaid 12K in my H37C. Three reasons: more stainless including the drip pan, a condensator valve to suck the pan dry so there is no drain required, and they were a great help on the phone. I think I actually bought it from Defender. Five summers and not a single problem. Came with a very nice digital and programmable thermostat. My only complaint is that the fan is single-speed and a bit noisy.
