I just purchased a Windex and realized that my radio antenna is in the way. Any suggestions on the best way to mount the Windex to allow for clearance? Tim

Alternative

Or you could get your money back and purchase the type that mounts on the antenna??? Otherwise, I'm pretty sure that they sell a mount which sticks out forward or aft to clear all the stuff on your masthead. Good luck

Optional mounting wand available

For your windex, there is an optional mounting wand that is available. Universal Masthead Mount $20.00 West Marine This mounts on top of the mast and stands the windex about 12" to the stern to clear your radio antena. Most major marine catalogs stock and sell this item. I have it installed on my boat. Works fine and was easy to mount. Good Luck Ian s/v Meant to Be

or make one

The offset mount is nothing but a strip of SS or aluminum that locates the Windex aft so that you can see it. You can buy them or make one yourself.

Check the Archives

A number of us have used a peice of flat aluminum stock to mount the Windex, antenna, and a spreader light.

Wiindex/Antenna

Davis sells a windex that sits on the antenna. Works as advertised. See my installation at: http://webpages.charter.net/gkobernus/H260_web/misc_upgrades.htm
