Hi folks,

I am about to spend the money on a roller furling and am unsure about the position of the lower drum unit and its proximity to the stainless steel bow pulpit.

- should the drum be installed above the tubing, and if so so king of an extension will be required?

- Any tips from someone that has completed this before.?

You want the drum to be as low as possible so the hoist of your headsail is maximized. If the drum is too wide to fit between the verticle tubes of the pulpit, then you must either raise the drum or modify the bow rail (either is viable). If you have to raise the drum, then you need spacers to accomplish this. I don't think Harken has these as options so you might have to get something made up special. Furlex has spacers available for such applications.
