We have a 1991 Hunter 28 and sail her on San Francisco Bay. The Bay is known for afternoon winds of 20-30 knots on a consistant basis in the summer. I have thought about adding a backstay adjustment to be able to help de-power the main when sailing upwind. I searched the archives and found one person with a H-30 who added one, but I would like to know if it is advisable from an engineering standpoint specifically with our model. If one of the Hunter rep's gets this article, I would really appreciate getting a manufacturers response. Thanks. Gary S/V "Serenisea"
