Has anybody added an anchor roller to a H260 or like model? The danforth that came with the boat is just large enough to be somewhat difficult to deploy and retrieve by hand. I've come very close on several occasions to hurting either myself or the boat getting the anchor up and down. Pics, vendors, model #s would be great if anyone has dealt w/ this issue.

Factory

Mine came from the factory with the anchor roller installed. I would give them or your local dealer a call to find out what model they use at the factory.

The "standard" is probably...

ok, especially if you are trailor sailing, but for those that keep it in the water and have to anchor out, the metal strength leaves a bit to be desired. I've had to "reshape" mine more than once after a big blow. Try the archives, I know some folk have installed larger ones after the fact.

here is what I did

Look at the photo form under "Bahamas 260 Improvements" hope that helps. I have since replaced the Danforth with a 15 Lbs Claw that I think highly of. Baums Rush

John, what anchor roller is that?

Model etc, and by any chance, were you able to use the existing mounting holes or is that just wishful thinking???? Nice job BTW - on all. I can really see why the chair would come in handy but the look takes some getting used to! Fair winds,

I made a new base, and enlarged the cut thru the molded toe rail, made a base out of some SS stock and was able to use two of the existing mounting holes then added two more and still hit the backing plate under the fiberglass. Don't remember the model number but you can figure that out by calling West Marine and give the aprox. size. The chair is one of my favorates saves my back on long hauls. Just added a Micro-wave and a Flat screen TV- DVD. Added central heat and air last year. Wife and I are doing the Great Loop next year for 14 months. Baums Rush

Love to see your boat, John!!!

Sounds like you must have the best outfitted 260 around!! If you make it to the panhandle of FL, I'd love to treat you to a bbq, you can tie up to the dock and we can work on my boat!!! Fair winds and thanks for the info! Bill

Anchor roller

I installed a Windline BRM-2 Bruce Anchor Roller/Mount purchased from West Marine. Perfect fit. Works for the Delta anchor that I also purchased for better all-around holding strength for a variety of bottom conditions. The stock anchor sits in a storage area as a spare. Make absolutely certain you follow the tap and drill instructions so you don't snap a tap or a bolt off in the hole you drilled. Stout metal under that fiberglass.

TV Model?

LK, what model did you use for the flat screen TV-DVD? Is it 12-volt, and where did you mount it? Thanks!

WINDLINE BRM-2

I was thinking of installing the same roller on a 260 with a 14 lb Delta. I took some measurements before I bought anything and it seemed the anchor would not be far enough forward to clear the rub rail. It appears that the BRM-2 fits in the slot provided which the Kingston QR-20LL which is longer does not. I would greatly appreciate any details . How did the installation go: fit perfectly? what size anchor does it hold? good clearance? does it self launch? If you moor to a ball does it interfere with mooring lines? Is the metal plate under the whole of the slot? It would be good to be sure to hit it the first time when drilling ! Thanks for anything you can tell me about it.

BRM-2

As I recall, it required some precision to fit it. The anchor does not rub and does fall free, but it is pretty close. I am hoping to get down to the boat tomorrow afternoon, and will try to remember to take a picture.

DVD Model 15MF LCD TV MAGNAVOX DVD/CD MCD 125 was install on the Port side forward of the head. I had already install a 500 watt inverter in the head under the sink with the outlet plugs on the bulkhead on the outside of the head. All the attaching wires are fed thru to under the sink (to be out of the way) the antenna is fed topside to a power antenna that I put up on the mast on a case by case basis, take about 3 min. The 500 watt inverter is enough to run the TV, DVD and charge the cell phone or charge the BIG spot lamp or run (charge) the lap-top. I also carry a 4K inverter for the big draw items like the reverse cycle AC or the micro-wave. That is fed by 4 big gels 370 ah batteries wich is fed by a 40 amp True charger which is fed by a 1 k AC generator. Hope that answers you questions Baums Rush if any more e-mail me --LKYusnret2@aol.com-- without the --

BRM-2 WITH DELTA

A picture would be great but if you don’t get to it : is the anchor a 14lb Lewmar Delta exactly or some other weight or brand . Sometimes the Kingston Quickset or other anchors are called Deltas because they are shaped similarly but actually measure differently. In the case of a close fit this could the difference between fitting and not fitting. I forgot to ask but I assume you can store the anchor in the roller because you said it did self launch? Does the hatch still close completely or does the stock interfere with it? Thanks for your help.

Roller and anchor

Sorry, didn't make it down there. Probably won't for another 10 days or so. As my memory serves, it is a Lewmar Delta anchor #14 purchased from West Marine (can't find the receipt to confirm). Yes, the locker does close. Anchor is stored in the roller, with a little string tied to keep it from self-launching on its own.

Thanks. You've made this project much easier. Your info should come in handy for others who want to install an easy to launch and retrieve system with one of the best anchors for most conditions.
