Adding a 155 head Sail

Just finish my 1st season in this great boat. The size ,the handling and the ample room below decks made for a great Season.** I'm begining to research reaplacing trhe factory 140% with a new Dacron 155%. Has anyone made this transition and what would you recomond. I have read the 140 is the largest recomended head sail for this boat.Thanks

Genoa size

Hi Shaun -I've sailed with a 150 and a 135 genoa and generally prefer the 135, especially if you have a furler. If you go to a 155 you'll get overpowered much faster than the smaller sail. It's nice to have both so you can switch depending on wind conditions but if you think you'll stick with a working sail most of the time I'd go with the 140.Just my thoughts.Have fun!Trevor

i have everything from the factory 100 up to and including a light air 155 on my 30. on the northern end of the chesie there are lots of times i wish i had a 170. if predominate winds are light for your area I'd go for the 155, if such as eastern end of long island sound I'd go for the 140, in the sound proper from what I've heard I'd do the 155. go for the sail size that you think you'll use the most.S/V Que Pasa?
