Yes, yes , and no I did add weight to a Capri Cyclone center board by drilling holes with a holesaw and mixing lead shot and epoxy to fill the holes, I then glassed in the centerboard.....It's now a fixed fin Capri Cyclone, I'm in the process of glassing in a bowsprit to add the foresail area.
