Does anyone know where you can get the channel that attaches the wood benches to the inflatable sides of the achilles inflatables. I have an lex 290. the replacement bench is 63.00
A lot of cash for strip of plywood with two metal channels on the end. If I can get my hands on the channel, I am sure i can cut a strip of plywood to make the bench.
Any leads would be much appreciated

Hi Edlk,
Defender has the plastic seat hardware to make your own seat that will slide on the Achilles seat bolt rope patches. You wrote "metal", but I have not seen a metal version of this bracket.

They are not cheap. $19.99 each. They screw onto the underside of a properly cut/sized piece of wood.

Another possible source is Maritime Solutions Inc., on East Main Rd. in Middletown, RI (They could be just over the the town line and be in Portsmouth, RI) Either way its just up the road away from Newport. They are an Achilles dealer.

Have I got a deal for you......maybe

I have a seat from a Zodiac FastRoller 285. It is in decent shape (could use a fresh coat of poly) and it may be the size you need... and it might fit.

It is 8" wide, 29.5" long and 1" thick. The pictures below show the seat and the slide-on attachment parts.

My sailboat is located in Bristol but I live in Pittsfield, MA. I would be happy to bring it to you on July 5th when I return to Bristol.

Free if you can use it.
