There is a halyard wrap around the top of the forestay above the furling on my Hunter 30. I have a bosun chair but only the main halyard is available to lift. From what I have read it is recommended to have two halyards connected to the bosun chair for safety. Call me chicken but I am concerned about protecting myself should the main halyard fail when I am going up the mast. Can anyone offer suggestions to make the access safer in the even that the main halyard should fail. I have thought of using a safety harness as a back up but cannot figure out a way to tie it off as I ascent. Am I overly concerned?
